It was booked-up even before it officially opened, this super sexy Mykonos resort located along the new harbor area outside of the main village that a mooring point for posh yachters on the Aegean itinerary. Originally a 20th Century quarry, the location has been completely renovated offering a stylish luxury resort with hip lobby area, infinity pool sundeck and sushi restaurant that rivals nearby Matsuhisa at the Belvedere. Guests arrive to a stone motor court flanked by two oversize urns and local staff dressed in draped white linen. The lobby is sparsely decorated with raw-wood furnishings and washed concrete floors connecting to an outdoor pool area with panoramic vista of the Aegean Sea. The pool is one of the best on the island, offering a salt-water infinity design and five floating sundecks with personal hydro massagers. DJ beats keep a cool vibe throughout the common areas, connecting the main lobby with an underground spa area and new fitness center with additional indoor pool that is the best on the island. While service is not quite at a 5-star level, courteous yet slightly overwhelmed staff serves breakfast and late evening snacks.
The Room
Renovated by the same designer as the nearby Mykonos Theoxenia Resort, guest rooms feature a white and Aegean blue color scheme with whitewash wood floors and painted-white ceilings with ceiling fan. Four-poster canopy beds feature super-soft Serta mattresses with medium-thread count linens and oversize pillows. The décor mixes elements of modern Greek design including cushioned rocking club chairs and integrated concrete desks and side tables. Perhaps the best feature of the rooms, and hotel for that matter, are oversize balconies with private infinity pools for standard superior and suite-level rooms. While interconnected to several other private pools, each offers spectacular views of the Aegean and semi-private terrace areas with modern loungers perfect for sprawling out at sunset. Bathrooms feature double vanity sinks and Korres toiletries in freestanding rain showers and deep-soaking spa tubs.
